‘Cuz Life’s a Party at Elisa B.

IMG_1625Today I stopped by one of my favorite Pasadena boutiques, Elisa B,  for its 23rd birthday/anniversary bash.  And boy was it a party there! Lots of wine, cheese, cupcakes, waffles, a DJ spinning tunes, and of course clothes, beautiful clothes!

I also had the awesome treat of meeting Letty and Laura, the two brainchildren of the clothing line, DaydreamerLA.

I’ve been wearing their soft, cool, and punchy tees and sweatshirts since I first discovered their line at Elisa B last Christmas.  I wrote about DaydreamerLA here and today I found a really cool Daydreamer rock ‘n roll muscle tee shirt of the band Queen.  Everything today was 23% off and besides the shirt, I also scored on a few other items which I’ll post about soon.

Elisa B. is located on 16 E. Holly St., Pasadena, CA 91103

It’s Hot!

Seems like the hot weather has been going on forever here in Southern California. It’s been in the upper 90’s for the past 2 weeks now but thankfully, we’re going down to the upper 80’s (!) by next week.  For me, this hot weather means wearing as little as possible while at the same time trying to maintain some sense of style.  When I was looking at the Everlane website a couple weeks ago I spotted this smart, striped sun dress which was pretty much calling my name.

And what a bargain too at only $38.  Sadly, this dress is no longer on their site which tells me they’ve sold out but this short dress is available, as is this muscle tank dress.  Everlane can be hit or miss at times but this dress was definitely a hit!

More of Elizabeth Suzann

Yesterday I shared my newfound love for Nashville designer Elizabeth Suzann with you.  Today I want to continue sharing my ES love affair.  I wore this ensemble today,IMG_1593

Made of silk crepe in a rich shade of navy, the Florence pants flow and hang with such ease, the Georgia tee, also made of the same silk crepe, feels like my favorite, broken-in t-shirt.  True, the ES pieces are not cheap, but I’m at a stage in my life where I don’t want to buy clothes that are made cheaply and not made to last.  That’s what Elizabeth Suzann is all about…excellent quality, long lasting, classic, comfortable, and quite beautiful really. Hope you will have a look for yourself.

I Am Back!

Oh my, has it really been 2 months since I’ve written a post here? I’m sorry about my absence.  Let me just say it’s been a very long, hot summer, and leave it at that.  I’m not going to list a litany of excuses as to why I haven’t been blogging, okay? I won’t put you through that torturous read.  No, instead, I’m going to plunge right back into it!

I do have lots of lovely, exciting things to share with you.  Just because I wasn’t blogging does not mean I haven’t been searching and acquiring new clothes, shoes, makeup, and lingerie, just to name a few.  I’m excited, no, very excited to share this clothing designer from Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Suzann with all of you. This young woman designs and creates simple, fluid, comfortable pieces ranging from pants to blouses to dresses and skirts.  Today I want to show off a dress I recently got from her Signature Collection, the Marlena Dress.  It’s perfect for summer, whether you want to throw it on with flip flops, or dress it up a little with some jewelry and heels.  It’s your your choice.  Made of lovely raw silk, the dress can be worn with either the V-neck in the front or in the back.  Here I’m wearing it with the V in the front. IMG_1543

I love how free and easy this dress feels on.  I also love that I can just toss it in the washing machine (on cold, gentle cycle), and let it hang to dry.  Low maintenance and a dress I’ve been reaching for many times this summer, the Marlena is definitely a staple in my wardrobe.  In the next few days and weeks I’ll be showing off more pieces from the Elizabeth Suzann collection.  Check out her site here for yourself.
